IIPM in hot water

IIPM is the 'dare to think beyond IIMs' management institute.
It is the brain child of Arindam Chaudhuri - 'management guru' or something like that.

Rashmi Bansal of JAM magazine carried a serious investigation over the claims of the institute in 2006.
The amount of hate mail it generated for her and her team is just amazing.

But the truth has ultimately prevailed.
Now the UGC has declared IIPM a fake university (see No. 8 in the list).
About time that students are saved from such monstrous, maniacal, marauding mercenaries masquerading as messiahs of management mantras.

nice alliteration.

IIPM, well, it did always seem fake to me! The guy was making movies on the one hand and doing this institute on the other. Not that there is anything particularly wrong with that, but still..

There are WAY too many Management institutes coming up is what I always felt, but then, I am biased...

the planman group also has magazines - the sunday indian - as part of their business. check their site - http://www.thesundayindian.com/ (the nations greatest news weekly).

there are way too many institutes mushrooming in comparison to mushrooms.

as falstaff (2x3x7.blogspot.com) says, the ponytail has been declared a hairpiece.

Hmmm..i agree with kbpm, he has that phoney looks that leaves a deep impression of distrust. I am shocked that it was THIS huge a scam. Way too many management institutes? What about the 'engineering' ones? I am too scared (read sick) to probe the educational background of my candidates during interviews. Why should B.Tech through correspondence be allowed for healthy, wealthy city dwellers?

air - a close observation of the newspapers over the last few days, shows that IIPM has gone on an advertising bliztkreig parading their international placements record.
surprisingly there is limited coverage in the news about their 'fake' rating by UGC. as a heavy advertiser, it is likely that they could have suppressed this item.

kewl, was perplexed to read that zee business ranked iipm ahead of iima on perception.. i presume it was on perception of ponytailed simians as heads of institutes or sumthin' like that.. the earlier fracas with rashmi bansal and co was also not covered by the MSM - iipm takes out full page colour ads i think once every week, and there are lots of other ads.. plus from what i hears, the ponytail has links with them in powers.. as all conmen do.. and suprising thinggy was iipm pretty much accepted to being fake in the court - their counsel said something like they are not fake, only unaccredited.. heheh.. talk abt lawyers..
