wolsam's hierarchy*

i have just re-hierarchied maslow (and created a new word in the bargain). here is one more more insight into his path-breaking philosophy.

his needs hierarchy is always an upward pointing staircase/pyramid.

i propose to invert the entire thing. self-actualisation, i proffer, will happen while climbing down the staircase, i.e., by minimising your needs.
the less one needs, the more self-actualised one gets.

i remember window shopping one day, and the one thought i got was "gosh, there is so much that i don't need."

along with my nut index theory, i think i am firmly on the nobel road ;)

* the smart people would have realised that title is maslow in ulta.

csm-f, speaking of nuts, have posted results of first nut index data point from Hyd in your nuts post...

csm - sorry, ulta pyramid is not balanced. it will fall down. how far can you minimise your needs. only up to a point....

but sure, i am willing to bet that we will be booking tix soon to watch you at the medal thing. dont forget to take tips from ludwig, he has amassed all relevant literature for it. :-)

With more than one year of blogging, (first post on 3rd april 2006), its getting crazier i guess...The nut index and all....

You seem to have all the pre-requisites for the nobel......All the best.. :-)

l - thats great. almost double the number from mumbai. interesting.

kbpm - i learnt the hierarchy as a staircase and not as pyramid, which seems to be the current diagrammatic version. so with that imagery, it woul still be balanced. i think lim (needs ->0) is valid.

no bother for tix, will get complementary. it is anyway mostly awarded in pairs and threesomes, so wigman is on the team.

v - this is as serious as the first post. many appear zany and crazy, but i am dead serious with wolsam.

expt 2 - another place. 23 nuts for Re 1. smaller sized spheres or are they cylindroids.
central mumbai may be bottoming out at these levels.

csm - gosh, i find it hard to believe that you can only get half the nuts for Re. 1 in Bombay than you can in Hyd. 23 nuts is a pitiful number, hell when i saw the Hyd vendor's little dabba i thought 40 nuts was pretty few...

ok staircase going up or down is just fine, you can start from the top, in which case you can go down no probs. but most of us start at the bottom, and have to climb up, now thats a tough one for our obese generation!
tix - thanks for counting me for complimentary thing, will it be business class (there I go, maximising my needs for leg-space in flights...) :-)

nuts: any sign of the red and white peanuts. i used to eat those a lot in school. used to get 10 nos. for 15 paise (no, colour did not matter for the cost).

this one was awesome. it also ties in with your next post re: not giving away money to the needy as doles. quite a guy eh?

nut counting - 33.5 nuts for a ruppee in bombay. right next to office is a kabootar-khana (pigeon feeding place). nut specialty shop is right next to it.
this nut count is a very healthy 33.5 big juicy ones.

previous 2 were from roadside vendors. need to check for skew as it is apparent that there is a lot.
