a new hope - kamal

i was a very keen observer of politics for many years. but not since i moved into the rural/farming life. in fact, i believe that we are always on the losing side.
even when the AAP phenomenon was developing, i remained disconnected, though marginally interested. while many may have moved on from the heydays of hope that anna hazare/kejriwal inspired, i believe that AAP phenomenon is still very worthwhile.

coming to the topic...
i am an unabashed fan of kamal hassan's movies. have been for a very long time.
since his turn into the political sphere, my non-existent interest in politics is showing signs of resurrection.
i strongly believe that kamal will be a positive force for our society.
there is skepticism and much rolling of eyes, especially from the upper classes.
i really like that he is taking his time to roll out his plans.
change needs time. we may be a society in a hurry, but speed rarely helps towards lasting change.
he is a fresh breath and i foresee his contribution to be very valuable. and i aim to be a part of this process.

As a Kamal fan myself I agree. He will be better than most politicians we have in TN.

I originally came across your blog a few years back serendipitously doing a search for ammi kal and came across your shinning faces looking up from your work and following the link on the image. I was then intrigued by your venture into permaculture and a simple sustainable lifestyle and since then periodically check back and enjoy the read. Your mentioning of the strong arming of the Indian population into accepting digital transactions in place of fiat notes was alarming though I have noticed the creeping trend creeping in the west that is being furthered by the young, trendy and lazy with little need for government force just the allowance of industry to quell the few decenters. The idea of no matter who wins the election we all lose is an idea, fear and reality I have long embraced and your blog gas showed me I'm not alone and that there are in fact others of some revere spreading the word.

I responded because of your hope in Kamal and he has made many a charitable contribution I will not deny. I identify with many parts af many religions but ascribe to no organized religion because almost without fail all ruin an otherwise noble ideology with one or more ridiculous or devisive beliefs that they tenaciously cling to. I was was raised with a Christian background though It is no exception to the aforementioned rule though I believe whole heartedly in the Christian idea that if you put your faith in man you will only be let down wether lightly or catastrophically. Please don't think me a bible thumper but I would like to refer you and your readers to a chapter from the bible that they are likely unfamiliar with. This chapter gets little mileage and is troublsome to say the least for for many Christian denominations as well as many Jews. I think it is germane to so please read chapter 8 of 1st Samuel and please read king as ruler, leader, politician, etc. The chapter suggests that the 10 commandments and there implications were law enough and that a community, village, etc. could come together and expound upon those few rules to decide wether or not an individual or group is acting with true moral rectitude and glorifying creation (man, the environment, the universe) or diminishing it through selfishness. The fact that many christians would dispute my viewpoint is as much the reason I do not ascribe to a organized religion as any.

capton - welcome. you were supposed to send questions, no?

v - yes, of course. it is a phenomenon. though my knowledge of the usa is limited, i am unsure whether i can trust the stuff that mainstream media is racking up against him and his governance. he is very unconventional and i generally like unconventional...

mike - well written. i agree with your point. likely that kamal could be a straw for us to hold onto as we drown!!
the "system" is wretched and i am convinced that anyone operating within it will be systematically "systematised". but he is saying very unconventional things, which (refer earlier) i like :-)

I was curious if you ever considered changing the page layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better? farm tools

"capton - welcome. you were supposed to send questions, no?"

Glad you remembered that! Sorry I didn't. After a while, thanks to the internet, I think I have fairly satisfactory answers to most of my questions.

I did enjoy the emails from you both.

Wonder why you don't post as much in your blog. Just don't care as much? Just busy? Life has more important things than blogging? Yours was one of my fav blogs.

I also want to share a special offer especially for those who are more concerned about their health may visit organic pulses online in India. In our online organic store, we have a collection of organic pulses like moong, masoor, Chitra rajma, and others. You could also try our most preferable pulse organic arhar ki dal online at the best price. It is healthy, delicious, and nutritious.

I read your whole article it really looks helpful for elder age people. I also have my old grandmother and father and I am going to apply your teachings. One thing more is that I also serve organic pulses online in India as a healthy lentil soup. Is it good?
