rat-a-tata

the rat poison worked. it was a popular MNC brand.
am not that thankful to plug it here!!

even though it popularly known that rats are cautious eaters of new substances, 4 rats bit the dust.
all of them died indoors and hence were buried - thus thankfully avoiding secondary poisoning.

iam not for killing them. We shud trap them and leave them away (may be a bit far away)so that it ends up in a right food cycle / prey.I did that a few times at my house but they didnt scratch my leg while sleeping, so can understand ur frustration.

i am quite impressed that you managed it! have i told you about the frogs in my house in mumbai?
(meanwhile here we had to spray the house down for the cockroaches. i am convinced that the spraying is just a means to avoid having to clean up behind you. but what do i know).

Killing them is not so organic - may be you need some mongooses around or cats. Using an MNC poison for killing rats is so unnatural and damaging to the ecosystem you are building.

jayadeep - guilty as charged.
we were a bit pushed to a corner and bit the bullet.
but for the record, living an 'organic' life is not as simple as people think it is. and we make mistakes as we progress and that is the learning.
